Fall in the desert is a bit cooler, with just a hint of the frantic social season to come — the ideal time to refresh and polish up tired summer skin with these spa specials.

At Elements at the Hilton Palm Springs, 60-minute treats include an Organic Facial that features a fruit peel waterlily of detoxifying mask and rehydrate and calm, and a take-home facial treatment to ease into fall. The Invigorating Body Scrub incorporates caffeine to tighten and stimulate. Follow these with a Green Tea Pedicure to get your tootsies shining with a sugar scrub, green tea and clay mask and the newest fall polish color.

Through September, the Spa at Desert Springs is offering a Cool Summer Package — two and a half hours of pampering that includes an Organic Coconut Sugar Scrub, Summer Blossom Massage, Summer Soothing Facial and credit for a lunch in the Spa Bistro. Or, choose among the many individual treatments with special rates Sunday through Friday.

A favorite is the JW Naturopathica Massage, aimed at eliminating tension throughout the body, starting with a citrus inhalation and vigorous scalp massage to restore mental clarity, continuing with a deep massage and concluding with an an exfoliating foot treatment with steaming hot towels. Using seed oils, botanical extracts and such powerhouse ingredients as plant stem cells, AHAs, and peptides, Naturopathica products are famous for reducing skin inflammation and environmental stress, both major causes of premature aging.

Rock Spa at the Hard Rock Hotel is offering a sweet deal on a staycation with the Naughty & Nice Package—lodging for one night, breakfast in bed, late checkout and a whopping $250 in spa credit.

Two of the September specials at Sunstone at Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa have a yummy island vibe. The Coconut Guava Scrub is a double dose of exfoliation and hydration that leaves skin silky and scented with guava and coconut. The Star Fruit Sugar Scrub and Massage adds relaxing massage strokes with nut butter for a triple treat. Sunstone’s facial special is the Thermo Cooling Hydrating treatment to reduce redness, soothe and deeply hydrate sensitive skin.

At the Palm Springs Yacht Club at the Parker Palm Springs, the best deal is the PSYC Series, which offers six 60-minute spa services for the cost of five. Choose scrubs, wraps, massages, facials and get ready to glow. You can also take advantage of the Monday-Friday special half-day and full-day passes, and spend your time lounging by the pool, enjoying the spa amenities and having a leisurely lunch.
