Grand Entrance

The Spa Tower by Eric Cohler for the Kohler Design Center in Kohler, Wis., features a shower as an entryway to the bathroom. Cohler says this is done “as a means to wash away stress upon entering the space.” The 14-foot, castle-like shower space blends classicism with modernism, while tacks of stripes of Ann Sacks Custom Mosaic tile in Luxor Grey and Linen create motion in both vertical and horizontal directions. Multifunction showerhead and faucet are from Kohler’s Memoirs collection. (800) 456-4537, www.kohler.com.

A Good Egg

Limestone is what makes the Papillon tub from Stone Forest appear as delicate and enveloping as an eggshell — but it’s only one of several materials used for this museum-quality, hand-carved vessel. Other options include sleek black granite and stately Carrera marble. The curving sides and 68-inch length were designed for soaking comfort; $20,000. (888) 682-2987, www.stoneforest.com.

Round the Drain

The 18th century Chinese craft of cloisonné comes to life in handcrafted sinks by Linkasink. Each is made by fusing wire and powdered glass to a copper bowl that is then ground and polished smooth to create a resilient surface. It’s as hard as porcelain, requires no special care, and can be used as a vessel or an undermount. Circles is one of eight designs; $1,700-$2,000. (866) 395-8377, www.linkasink.com.
