A first peek at architect Donald Wexler’s final project, the 2016 Steel and Glass House, became a special Valentine's Day gift to 60 VIP clients of Ferguson, Bath, Kitchen and Lighting Gallery on Feb. 14.

Sumptuous passed hors d’oeuvres, a full bar, a souvenir photo booth, Rat Pack tunes and a live mermaid lounging poolside made for a glamorous Palm Springs Modern experience.

The party’s theme, Then and Now, perfectly describes the home that has come to be known as The Last Wexler.

A simple post and beam structure created in the lineage of Wexler’s iconic steel homes built 55 years ago, and constructed with today’s sustainable technology, the extraordinary structure will undoubtedly take a place among Palm Springs’ cache of architectural treasures.

Guests from the desert communities and Southern California drive markets were among the first to see the property, which was completed just days before Modernism Week kicked off on Feb. 11.

Ferguson, Bath, Kitchen and Lighting Gallery provided the home’s plumbing fixtures, lighting, and appliances as sponsors of Palm Springs Life’s The Last Wexler: Steel and Glass Home Tours, an official Modernism Week event.
