Step inside general builder/designer David E. Scott's world and into a 10-year masterpiece in the making for clients with refined tastes and a billion-dollar golf course view.

“He has great ideas and he executes them flawlessly. I’ve never had him redo anything.”

The words of decade-long clients Frank and Kathy Tatum emphasize the quality and vision that have guided David Scott’s work for 20 years. David creates turnkey residences/offices for an impressive client list that includes President Ford, Willie Mays, Englebert Humperdinck, William Asher, Anita Pointer and the Sterling Winters Company in collaboration with Kathy Ireland. His work speaks for itself.

“It’s nice to meet someone who listens but who also has novel ideas.”

The Tatums had fallen in love with their home’s 16-foot ceilings, endless views, and travertine walls even though it needed a lot of work. This residence required a special eye for luxury, quality, and craftsmanship in harmony with the original architecture. This project allowed David to showcase his talents and a decade long relationship ensued.

Created and fine-tuned over a 10-year period, David Scott’s work on this Vintage home has been a million-dollar project. The exterior was completely redone; the interior was a near total overhaul. David personally coordinated the entire job as well as designed custom amenities to suit Frank and Kathy’s lifestyle. “It’s a very good collaboration,” Kathy says. “We play off of each other’s ideas.”

“He’s the one we trust to get it done. We’ve been very impressed with the people he has working for him.” “We are delighted to sing his praises. If you find somebody this good, you just want to tell everybody.”

Clients like the Tatums appreciate David because they can rely on his personal touch and trust that the job will be completed to his high standards. “It’s important to have someone you can trust like we trust him,” Frank says. “He comes in when we’re on the East Coast, brings his people, and sticks to the timetable we set. He gives us a telephone report every day, tells us when it’s done and it’s perfect…That to me is invaluable.”

Celebrating his 20th year working as a high-end specialty builder and designer for an elite group of clientele, David is most proud of the fact that his clients call him again and again. As owner of Decorator’s Depot, which supplies the products for his jobs, he has the unique ability to meet with clients, discuss plans, place the order, and have everything installed, down to the table settings, wine, and flowers. David has become a close friend to many of his clients. He understands their needs and desires and has tailored their homes accordingly. Quality is his number-one priority and it shows in his work.
