Dear Editor:
I’ve just finished reading the October issue of Palm Springs Life, and I’m especially impressed this month, mainly by the thorough, well-researched story by Bob Marra and “The Downtown Turnaround” by Sheila Grattan. And I read every word of the individual city profiles by a good bunch of professionals. I thought I knew it all, but I learned more than I ever knew about my desert. Congratulations to you and your gang.

Dear Editor:
I am more than flattered to be included among the “101 Most Influential People” in the October 2007 issue of Palm Springs Life. I would like to point out a minor correction: Mr. [Edgardo] Contreras-Pozo, while a friend, is not a business partner or otherwise in El Destino Nightclub Cabaret & Bistro in Indio. The finalizing architect or office is Ana Escalante, A.I.A., of Palm Springs. I am very appreciative of their assistance. El Destino is a concept and a dream 25 years in the making. I appreciate and thank you for the mention.

Dear Editor:
I am writing in response to your “for the record” note in the October issue of Palm Springs Life. You were correct to exclude the listed specialists under the heading of Plastic Surgery. Dermatologists or opthamologists who practice cosmetic procedures may be considered specialists in their respective fields of dermatology and opthalmology, but they are not plastic surgeons.

Dear Editor:
Congratulations on the first 50 years of publishing Palm Springs Life. They’re always the toughest. The second 50 should be a snap.
