Wonder Women
Annika Sorenstam will play to defend her Samsung World Championship title Oct. 10-16 at Bighorn Golf Club in Palm Desert. The 25th annual event features the world’s top 20 players of the LPGA Tour. The schedule includes practice rounds on Monday and Tuesday, a pro-am on Wednesday, and championship rounds Thursday through Sunday.

McCallum Theatre’s fun-filled fundraiser, Bowling for Bucks, rolls Oct. 8 at Fantasy Lanes Family Bowling Center. Proceeds help
support the McCallum Theatre Institute’s arts education and community outreach programs, which serve more than 34,000 Coachella Valley schoolchildren. Sign up one or more teams of four and come dressed in your favorite Hawaiian attire.

Be a Leader!   
Women Leaders Forum hosts its annual Leadership Academy 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Oct. 21 at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort and Spa in Indian Wells. The event offers leadership training to Coachella Valley women and honors Jackie Lee Houston, this year’s recipient of WLF’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Susan Murphy, Mitch Kusy, and Jan Fraser — all experts and authors on leadership will lead the training and sign books. The $95 admission includes a luncheon; luncheon is $65.
