For that, she, and her nephew, Gallery Director Christian Hohmann and his team, have always gone out of their way to offer services to their patrons that encompass a lot more than just facilitating an acquisition. “It is our philosophy to help our clients to integrate new art with their existing collection and assist in proper placement in order to achieve that magical balance and harmony that transform a house into a home with character and spirit.” This season, The Hart Gallery is celebrating 10 very successful years of helping patrons become discriminating collectors and constantly raising the bar with new and outstanding art. A number of special exhibitions, lecture series, and of course, the highly anticipated annual gala, will crown this season’s schedule of events. Every year, the gallery hosts one or more artists from overseas to come to Palm Desert to present their work in person. This year, it is acclaimed artist Thomas Ritter, one of the finest abstract artists of his generation. This highly accomplished and successful German artist has earned a professorship, developed a famous cultural center in his hometown, and enjoys wide-spread exposure and recognition on the international art stage. He has a large following of fans and collectors here in the desert, who have been waiting for this opportunity to meet him in person and see his latest works. Christian Hohmann, who was born into the art business as the son of the Hart’s curators and who was the youngest gallery operator in Germany at the age of 21, sums up what defines the spirit of The Hart Gallery with a quote from one of their world-renowned artists, Paul Wunderlich, who,when asked: “Can people... can a society, live without art?” answered: “Yes, but it’s hardly worth it!” THE HART GALLERY
