Shoe (and foot) tips for brides.
• Take the shoes you plan to wear to your gown fitting to make sure the hem of the dress sits where you want it (no tripping down the aisle).
• Buy shoes that fit comfortably enough that you can stand in them for a long time and that you can dance in them if you plan to have music at your reception.
• Don’t wait until wedding day to take the shoes out of the box. Break them in around the house; this also helps you get accustomed to walking in them so you don’t wobble down the aisle.
• If you’re wearing open-toed shoes, get a pedicure and have your toenails painted clear, pink, or red. Forgo fluorescent green and similar shades if only on this occasion.
• If you are getting married outside, avoid spiky heels that may sink into the ground.
• Leave shoe-dying to the experts. Once you’ve dyed a shoe, you can’t return it to the store, so why take the chance of getting it wrong?
Take a step in the right direction.
