Michael Childers, renowned photographer and Rancho Mirage resident, will show his latest series of work, Fusions, at a tea from 3-4:30 p.m. April 27 in the Melissa Morgan Fine Art gallery in Palm Desert.

Fusions represents Childers' ongoing work from the past 10 years, which diverges beyond previous figurative, distortion and nude series. The composite images represent a metaphysical direction inspired by nature and often incorporating water reflection and digital brushstroke enhancement.

Among the transcendental locations were Giverny, France; Wellfleet Ponds on Cape Cod; Yosemite National Park; San Francisco; Point Lobos, Carmel; Cambodia, and Oaxaca, Mexico.

Childers’ photography spans decades and includes more than 200 magazine covers, album covers, and film posters for major movie studios in addition to his iconic portraits of Hollywood legends, artists and authors.

His work is shown and collected throughout the world including the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC, Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, and the Palm Springs Art Museum.
