New Work By Artist James Corbett At Coda Gallery – Feb. 1, 2014

Australian sculptor James Corbett, introduced his new body of work at Coda Gallery. James has been creating his incredibly life-like sculptures since late 1998. At this time he was the owner of a motor wrecking business in Brisbane. One afternoon he decided to act on the thoughts that had been in the back of his mind for some time and began welding together some parts. The result are pieces filled with life and a sense of motion. His sculpture captures a glimpse, a moment, a second in time of the subject, whether that be a motorbike, an orangutan or a cowboy spinning his lasso. James and his wife Jodie attended the opening, talking with visitors about the work and process. The evening was enhanced by the music of Rafael "Rafa" Soto.
