The Palm Springs Walk of Stars honored noted plastic surgeon, humanitarian, and Coachella Valley resident, Scott M. Aaronson, M.D., F.A.C.S., with the 371st Golden Palm Star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars at a dedication ceremony on Sunday, May 18, 2014.
In attendance were the Aaronson family, personal friends, patients and speakers Dr. Frank Ercolli, Founder of the Hanson House Foundation and Medical Director of Trauma Services at Desert Regional Medial enter; Ruth Moir, Founder and President of the Steinway Society; and John Bolivar, an accomplished musician. Paying an especially heartfelt tribute to Dr. Aaronson was Bonnie Smith, head nurse at the Aaronson Plastic Surgery Center, who with her husband Dr. Mark Smith, initiated and facilitated the doctor’s star dedication.
Dr. Aaronson has had a plastic and reconstructive surgical practice in Palm Springs since 1984. In addition to the endless hours spent caring for patients, Dr. Aaronson has been a contributor to many local non-profit organizations.
Dr. Aaronson was honored at the 2013 Jazz Festival for his years of support of the Hanson House Foundation, an organization that cares for the families of trauma patients being treated at Desert Regional Medical Center.
Throughout the past two decades, Dr. Aaronson has sponsored numerous charitable activities. He once collected more than $800 in donations for the Palm Springs High School athletic department by holding a course in barbecuing. The doctor is a longtime contributor to the Palm Springs Police Officers Association and the Negro Academic Scholarship Fund. Dr. Aaronson donates gift baskets to many organizations for their silent auctions including the Rancho Mirage Women’s Club, Pets on Parade, and St. Margaret’s Elementary School.
Dr. Aaronson has been named a Top Plastic Surgeon for 10 consecutive years in a survey conducted by the nation’s most respected research team, Castle Connolly, for Palm Springs Life magazine.
The Palm Springs Walk of Stars, founded in 1992, has honored 371 individuals with a Golden Palm Star placed on the sidewalks of Palm Springs. Show business honorees must have made an impact worldwide in the area of show business. All other star honorees must have contributed to the charm, worldwide prominence and name recognition of Greater Palm Springs.
