It’s apparent that some of the best things in life start with the letter, M.

If you thought a massage couldn’t be melodious and rhythmic, then you haven’t visited the Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs lately.

The Rock Spa is specializing in “Synchronicity Massage” for the ultimate in indulgence and experience, combining music and motion to their signature treatments. Imagine a massage that takes you on a trip, simply by relaxing on a table. But this is no ordinary massage table. The table vibrates to the rhythm of the music.

Guests have the choice of three sound tracks.

1. Ultimate Chill – 50 to 80 minutes. Calm down, go easy, and relax. This is Hard Rock’s spin on traditional (i.e. zzz) spa music and it’s perfect if you like to play hard and relax even harder. This instrumental soundtrack is filled with ambient vibes that are designed to induce a serious state of relaxation. Recommended if you like: the Postal Service, Explosions in the Sky, and Bon Iver.

2. By the Sea – 50 to 80 minutes. This narrative-based playlist helps the listener sink into a journey through paradise by way of sound and music while riding the fine line between the abstract and the concrete. Through music and sound design cues, you’ll be guided through your trip by way of coastal train, walking through a beach town, and taking a nighttime dip in the ocean while being fully immersed in the beauty of paradise. Recommended if you like: The Eagles, The XX, and The Doors.

3. Sonic Restoration – 50 to 80 minutes(formerly Healing at the Speed). A restorative, transformative, and somewhat trippy experience. Through their studies in psychoacoustics and meditation, they incorporated a variety of sonic frequencies (binaural beats) resulting in a relaxed state of consciousness to help promote some serious chilling out. Recommended if you like: Pink Floyd, Brian Eno, and Robin Gunthrie.

Personally, I took the trip by the sea and I felt like I was there! I was chillin’ to the music on the train and could smell the ocean air. I imagined Ventura. Or was it San Diego? Who knows, I was nodding off because someone was massaging my feet at the same time. Too cool.

The Spa itself is comprised of four luxurious treatment rooms for massage, body treatments, facials and waxing, and has separate women’s and men’s locker rooms. A special couples treatment room includes side-by-side massage tables and a private shower.
