Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa welcomed guests and neighbors to an exciting Day of Discovery of visual art featuring Chicago-based artist Patrick Skoff on June 26.
The day’s events included an art treasure hunt with hints posted on the resort’s Facebook and Twitter pages, and two performance art experiences in Glo Lounge; the first showcasing a portrait painted by Skoff from start to finish over a two-hour period.
The second was a speed art portrait of Marilyn Monroe, created by Skoff in merely 10 minutes. Throughout the day, a gallery showing of works by Skoff were on display and available for purchase.
“Our third annual Day of Discovery was a huge success,” says General Manager Tom Tabler. “Everyone enjoyed the free art hunt throughout the day with six works of art hidden around the resort grounds and the day concluded with beautiful art being created right before our eyes! It was magnificent!”
This special event took place simultaneously with 155 Renaissance Hotels around the world celebrating the third annual “Day of Discovery,” as part of Renaissance Hotels’ initiative encouraging travelers to “Live Life to Discover.”
