Slovak, Baron, Empey, Murphy & Pinkney LLP, the largest law firm in the Coachella Valley, has announced the winners of its Second Annual SBEMP Business Awards, recognizing individuals who are making significant contributions to the desert business community.
“We established our business awards last year to honor entrepreneurs, innovators and leaders of the Coachella Valley who are propelling the local business community forward, creating jobs, and helping make this Valley a great place to live and work,” said Marc Empey, spokesman of SBEMP. “This year was highly competitive and we would like to congratulate the winners and nominees that were selected.”
The award winners were selected by an independent panel comprised of:
Gary L. Honts, CEO of JFK Memorial Hospital; Kevin Kelly, CEO of Two Bunch Palms; and Lee M. Osborne, president of Osborne Rincon CPA
The winners are:
• Kelly and Tyler McLean, co-founders of Splash House, winners of the SBEMP Entrepreneur Award.
• Dr. Sharon Brown-Welty, dean of California State University, Palm Desert Campus, winner of the SBEMP Impact Award.
• Joe Wallace, CEO of the Coachella Valley Economic Partnership, winner of the SBEMP Leadership Award.
• Hank McCarrick, CEO of Seco Sys Water Control Technologies, winner of the SBEMP Environmental Award.
