As befits its reputation as a sophisticated tourist destination, Greater Palm Springs is home to dozens of spas, and many of these luxury retreats have worked hard to refine their “signatures.”

From holistic to high-tech to glam, here’s a look a talented trioand what spa treatments and what they’re offering this season.

Two Bunch Palms, one of the desert’s most famous spas, has been closed for six weeks for major refurbishments and upgrades. In this downtime, spa therapists took intensive training in coordination with Soma School of Therapy and Wellness for Cancer, becoming certified Wellness for Cancer therapists. In celebration of the re-opening in October, the Mindful Touch Massage is available Sunday to Friday for all cancer patients, survivors and up to two support group members. It includes a 15 minute pre-treatment consultation, a 60 minute massage with touch and pressure customized depending on the stage of cancer, an energy healing session and a 15-minute rest and recovery period.

Rock Spa at Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs‘ Rhythm and Motion Signature treatments take their inspiration from the world of music, and the Synchronicity massage is a prime example. This uses a specially blended soundtrack, playing in sync with different massage techniques, pressures, and rhythms. The treatment is infused with organic essential oils to reduce stress, ease muscle tension, and detoxify.

The Face the Music facial uses sound vibration and clinically-tested organic products to deliver hydrated, glowing skin. Smooth Operator is a two-part treatment incorporating a sweetgrass dry brushing to remove rough skin and a detox wrap to further eliminate toxins and hydrate the skin.

Rock Spa’s treatments all have a rock ’n’ roll theme.

Ask for Remix and get the whole package: a cleansing shot of ginger tea to start the detox, followed by a brisk sweetgrass dry brushing, detoxifying wrap, Synchronicity massage and cleansing facial mask. A refreshing shot of Rock Spa Detox Tea keeps the good vibes going.

Spa La Quinta’s signature treatments are wildly popular with returning guest and desert residents. The Signature Citrus Scrub combines grapefruit, tangerine, and orange blossom essential oils with mineral components from the Great Salt Lake, and tops it off with a Vichy rain shower and full-body massage using deeply hydrating body cream with grapeseed oil. The Signature Garden Bath offers a soak in a private garden tub filled with Epsom salt scented with wild lavender, citrus blend or a special combination of white oak bark and eucalyptus.

The Signature Massage is customized to include different techniques and pressures, making it specific to each guest; and the Signature Facial uses Alpine stem cells and OsmoTec, a molecular catalyst said to deliver active ingredients to the heart of the skin cell for ultimate age prevention results.
