If you have watched Dancing With the Stars, chances are you have seen judge Carrie Ann Inaba wearing a Rhonda Faber Green design. In fact, Inaba is so enamored with Faber Green’s jewelry that she requested the designer outfit her with pieces for every installment of this season’s hit television show.

Count Inaba among the many celebrities — such as actresses Priscilla Presley and Julia Ormond and singer Missy Elliott — who are drawn to Faber Green’s dazzling jewelry crafted of 18K yellow and white gold embellished with diamonds and precious and semiprecious gems. But Faber Green emphasizes that she also designs for the everyday woman and with everyday wear in mind.

“I try to design things that women will cherish and love and want to wear all the time,” says Faber Green, who lives in Los Angeles and visited Frasca Jewelers in Palm Desert to showcase her lines during Fashion Week El Paseo. “I think I’ve achieved it with the Diamondots; they can put five strands on and it’s very dressy, or they can put one on and wear it with jeans or jogging.”

Diamondot is one of 10 collections that Faber Green has created since joining forces in 2002 with the Beverly Hills-based estate jewelry company Kazanjian Brothers Inc. Other lines include Filigreen, Essence, and Wynn, the latter created exclusively for Wynn Hotels in Las Vegas and Macau, China. The designer will unveil a pearl collection later this year.

An artist (she also paints and is an expert calligrapher), Faber Green draws inspiration from nature, symbols, and architecture. After visiting a British embassy adorned with fleur de lis, she incorporated a stylized version of the crest in her designs. Her signature Lauren heart (named after her daughter) incorporates her fondness for filigree.

Notably, Faber Green’s designs transcend any generation gap. “I have daughters wearing the same thing as their mothers, because they both love it,” she says.
