A hidden gem, The Chateau at Lake La Quinta is the only boutique hotel in the East Valley to overlook an extensive body of water.

Leonardo DiCaprio and John Legend have already checked it out.

A recent renovation, designed by Ron Nicola, also responsible for Tahiti Village Resort & Spa in Las Vegas, includes the addition of 13 new rooms and a gourmet restaurant, Melange. Now offering 22 lakeside suites and two lakeside bungalows, the Chateau at Lake La Quinta has been transformed into a true desert oasis.

VIDEO: Take a look at the transformation.

Suites range from chateau-style to contemporary, all with private patios or balconies which overlook the lake. Beautifully romantic, especially in the soft light of the afternoon sun, the custom designer furnishings offer calm comfort. All have luxurious king beds, walk-in showers, flat screen TVs, and some have fireplaces. The two lakeside bungalows enjoy their own private entrance, seclusion and panoramic views of the lake and mountains.

The spacious lobby includes a new nine-seat bar which overlooks the lake. There is an entertainment patio with fire pits made by the Amish, situated next to the new restaurant. Helmed by Chef Omar Pena of Mexico City, Melange's menu offers classics prepared in a contemporary way. Melange has patio dining that includes everything from wood-fired pizza and custom flatbreads to the finest of steaks.

Fireplaces, eclectic chandeliers, modern furniture and accessories give each suite a distinct personality.

“We spared no expense with ingredients at Melange,” says Chateau's General Manager Chris Chmielak, “We use local produce, Mary's Free Range Chicken at Pitman Family Farms located below Fresno and Creekstone Farms' premium beef from Kansas.”

Chmielak reveals the Chateau will be “constructing a floating deck so guests can enjoy being on the water. For weddings, the bride will cross the grass lawns from the private bungalow to the ceremony on the dock. The future may also see a small boat for guests to cruise the lake.”

Chateau easily accommodates an intimate event for 20 or a gala celebration for 250. Private buyouts are encouraged, offering the ultimate in exclusivity and privacy.
