The Suite Life at Riviera Palm Springs

Two suites offer plenty of reasons to never leave the resort

I have long loved the Riviera Palm Springs and the amenities offered to guests.

From its days of hosting celebrity guests like Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, and Jay Z to a cameo appearance in the Connie Stevens movie, Palm Springs Weekend, the Riviera Palm Springs has long been an icon.

In 2003 the resort was re-born with a midcentury meets rock star glam decor and upgraded suites for a new generation of guests to enjoy.

The one-bedroom suite offers a wet bar and a full-size fireplace.

With its three pools, dining at Circa 59, a full spa (Spa Terre), and a variety of bars to choose from, guests really never need to leave the hotel. Crimson Boutique even offers high-end shopping, unique Palm Springs tchotchkes, and sundries for guests.

I recently met with Sales Manager John Hansen to tour one of the many Starlite Suites available for guests.

The one-bedroom suite features a wet bar (to whip up a few cocktails) and full-size fireplace for those “chilly” Palm Springs evenings. The bathroom offers a black granite shower and deep soaking tub (perhaps for a post Spa Terre soak?). Some other fabulous amenities that caught my eye were the Jacuzzi located off the master bedroom, the romantic outdoor fire pit, and the option of a connecting second bedroom for even more space.

The dining area of the Presidential Suite.

For those looking to truly impress friends and family, The Presidential Suite offers more than 1,700 square feet of living space. I was greeted by floor to ceiling windows with views of the pool upon entering the two-story living/dining space (love at first sight!).

A gorgeous bar and full-size fireplace made the room feel intimate, which is an impressive feat given its size. A dramatic staircase (so cool!) leads to one of the two master bedrooms, second floor balcony, and optional third bedroom. I really loved the idea of a true “VIP Experience” the suite offers including the private Jacuzzi, large terrace, private fire pit, and complimentary Wi-Fi.

According to Hansen, these opulent suites are favorites of bachelorette parties and bridal parties looking for a home base during weekend festivities and even multi-generation getaways.

“Families love the Presidential!  Mom and Dad can book the optional 3rd bedroom for the grandparents to stay and watch the kids while they relax in the Spa,” says Hansen.
