The Shops on El Paseo hosted a Red Carpet Gala 2015 Academy Awards Viewing Party on February 22 at dedicated space within The Shops on El Paseo upscale stores. The event was a benefit for Palm Springs Women in Film and Television.
The gala featured a stunning Red Carpet upon which the guests could enter, be photographed and interviewed before the viewing and dining events of the evening. Attendees were enchanted by a performance by Gennine Jackson of Oscar-winning and nominated songs. Lulu California Bistro presented the cuisine inspired by some of this year’s Academy Award nominated films including seared duck breast, fingerling and caviar sturgeon, filet of wild salmon inspired and a selection of southern breads, and other delicious selections inspired by various motion pictures. Guests also enjoyed raffle prizes from the Shops on El Paseo stores.
Participants included Shari Belafonte (American actress, model, writer and singer), Pattie Daly Caruso (Valley Views television show host), Patrick Evans (of CBS Eye on the Desert and everybody’s favorite weatherman), Beverly Johnson (American model, actress and business woman), and Tristan Rogers (Australian American actor).
Palm Springs Women in Film and Television is a non-profit organization, dedicated to helping women and men achieve their highest potential within the global entertainment, arts, communications and media industries. In addition to mentoring women and men in the entertainment industry, the organization serves over 2,200 students weekly through its Coachella Valley BookPALS program.
