Bachelors Raise $54K for Shelter From The Storm
In the last dance at the big white Fashion Week El Paseo tent, the second annual Desert Cities Charity Bachelor Auction raised more than $54,000 for Shelter From the Storm, the Coachella Valley’s only emergency, shelter-based agency offering life-saving services to abused women and child victims of violent homes.
The sold-out event featured 13 bighearted bachelors offering date packages with values up to $10,000.
Bachelor Joel fetched $5,500 for his deluxe package, which includes dinner for 10 prepared in the winner’s home by Executive Chef Eric Wadlund of Spencer’s Restaurant in Palm Springs. Bachelor David drew $5,000 for a year of facials, hair styling, pedicures, manicures, massage, lunches, wine, golf, and weekly car washes.
Bachelor Lee lured $4,000 with two round trip tickets to San Francisco, two nights at Clint Eastwood’s Mission Ranch and Tehama Golf Course, as well as dinner for six at Hog’s Breath paired with Pininfarina wines. It also included a once-in-a-lifetime experience for two behind the wheels of the most heralded automobiles in the world — Bentley Supersports, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Audi R8 and McClaren — with a support crew from World Class Driving in Carmel.
