Seeing fellow Latinos in the building industry set Martinez on the path to founding Dantor Construction with her husband, Danny, in 2009. “I’m proud to be a woman in business,” she says. “We sometimes close our own doors.” Now, she’s a role model herself, mentoring teenage girls with the John F. Kennedy Foundation’s Ophelia Project.
