It is the only job Karina Medina-Thomas has ever held, and it fits her perfectly.
As the chief operating officer of Desert Family Medical Center, the 29-year-old mother-to-be expertly handles the day-to-day operations and procedures of the private family medical practice, making sure it runs efficiently and is meeting the needs of its patients.
Medina-Thomas spent her teen years in Cathedral City and attended College of the Desert; she is currently finishing up a Multidimensional Leadership Program with the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
“I felt a great sense of joy and accomplishment when Desert Family Medical Center opened a second location,” Medina-Thomas says, “as well as when I told my husband we were pregnant!”
