Now there is another reason to remember the name, Hotel California.
Beyond the title of the hit song from the Eagles, Hotel California in Palm Springs has been ranked No. 1 out of 25 honorees for providing the best hotel service in the U.S. by TripAdvisor, which released its Best of 2013 on Jan. 25.
Hotel California consistently receives 5-star ratings on TripAdvisor’s website. TripAdvisor’s Travelers' Choice awards come from compiling review data from its 60 million monthly users. Best Service is one of six categories along with Top overall hotels, luxury hotels, best bargains, bed & breakfast, and small hotels.
On TripAdvisor’s website, they included select quotes next to each property awarded taken from website postings by travelers. Hotel California’s read, “What made this experience different is the staff: friendly, fun, genuine people who respect the privacy of guests but still offer a wave, a smile and suggestions for things to do.”
Also honored in the Best Service category was the Desert Riviera Hotel in Palm Springs, which was ranked third behind No. 2 SeaCoast Inn in Hyannis, Mass.
Three Coachella Valley hotels were ranked among the top 25 small hotels in the U.S., including Old Ranch Inn in Palm Springs at No. 5, Living Waters Spa in Desert Hot Springs at No. 14 and San Giuliano Hotel in Palm Springs at No. 17.
Alpine Gardens in Palm Springs earned No. 12 among the top 25 Best Bargain hotels in the country. Queen of Hearts Resort in Palm Springs was ranked No. 8 under the category, Top 10 Hotels for Romance in the U.S.
