Eighteen years ago when only a handful of Palm Springs inns participated, this year's Walking Tour of the Inns on Dec. 12 has grown to include 17.

The “SHoPS” (Small Hotels of Palm Springs Association of Owners and Managers), the Palm Springs Art Museum, and Eat Drink Palm Springs organize the tour.

Each stop along the Inn Walk offers a microcosm of Palm Springs architecture and design, from the Orbit In, the Hideaway and the Del Marcos Hotel with their midcentury modern design, retro look and iconic architectural history (William Cody and Herbert Burns), to Casa Cody and Andalusian Court with their European/Spanish designs.

The tour provides a little something for everyone, from stylish looks, to holiday decor and cheer, to a little nostalgic throw back. Laura Ramstead, general manager of the Del Marcos Hotel says, “To me, it just evokes positive memories, and that’s really what the Inn Walk is all about.”

The tour also hosts a Toy Drive, which benefits the Well in the Desert annual “Christmas at the Convention Center” event.
