Just Fabulous in Palm Springs’ Uptown Design District now carries books and novelties from the Museum of Modern Art.

Now you can take home a little piece of New York’s Museum of Modern Art without ever leaving Palm Springs. Just Fabulous, the trendy store in Uptown Palm Springs, has begun exclusive sales of MoMA merchandise — from lavishly illustrated and expertly written books to gift cards and posters to fun tchotchkes. The store’s owner, Stephen Monkarsh, sent a proposal to MoMA explaining why Palm Springs is so important to modernism, and the museum agreed to allow his store to offer the first MoMA shop-in-shop of its kind in the country.

“Palm Springs used to be known for playing in the sun and movie stars coming to hang out by the Racquet Club pool — which is fine, and that Hollywood history is exciting,” Monkarsh says. “But we also have this treasure trove of midcentury modern architecture that no one else has.”
