Since his arrival in the desert six years ago, Josh Zipperman has had many accomplishments and positive impacts on the community.

At 32, he is the youngest member of the board of directors at the Mizell Senior Center and has a great passion for the care of seniors in the Coachella Valley.

Zipperman also has worked hard campaigning on Measure J for Palm Springs.

“There is a whole renaissance in the valley that our generation is behind,” says Zipperman, a senior associate at Burke-Rix Communications. “I have been fortunate to have worked on a number of regional green efforts like the SoCal Energy Summit and CV Link, and it has become a passion of mine to see the valley be a leader in sustainability,” he says.

The college philosophy major likes the diversity of his work and personal life.

“I love to work on projects that have an impact on the community and where you can see the benefits that people are getting and making a difference,” says Zipperman, who was raised from age 13 by his two dads, Bob Burke and Brian Rix.

Zipperman, whose goal is to be a community leader and great father and husband, has been married for two years and has a baby son.
