AJ Lambert, daughter of Nancy Sinatra and granddaughter of Frank Sinatra, helped celebrate her grandfather’s 100th birthday on Dec, 10 at The Purple Room Restaurant and Stage in Palm Springs by continuing the family’s legacy of the finest song interpretations.
As with Frank Sinatra, Lambert tells a story with focused attention to the lyrics. Familiar songs are made anew through her unique phrasing and stylizing. Lesser known songs are brought to the forefront, creating intense interest leaving people wanting to learn more about the songs and the songwriters such as Tom Waits, Annie Clark, and Loudon Wainwright III.
Giving a nod to a few songs from The Great American Songbook, Lambert presents what she believes may well be the new standards; contemporary songs that people will be singing 50 years from now. With the lovely voice of a bell, warmth, poignancy and humor, AJ Lambert delivered on her belief to the delight of the sold out audience.
