Hailed for his superior artistry as an iconic master of the classical guitar, Angel Romero’s eminence in the music world as soloist and conductor is lauded by audiences and critics alike.

One of the most sought-after musicians on the concert stage, Romero has appeared in the world’s major cultural centers, including those of London, Paris, Berlin, Vienna, Madrid, Munich, Zurich, Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York.

He has appeared as a soloist with such leading orchestras as the New York Philharmonic, the Cleveland Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the New World Symphony, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.

As a conductor, he has led orchestras worldwide, including the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Berliner Symphoniker, the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, the Bogotá Philharmonic, and the NDR Radiophilharmonie. An advocate for young performers, he conducted a highly acclaimed performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 with one of the great youth orchestras from the famous El Sistema in Caracas, Venezuela. Regardless of his role on stage, his driving intensity and flawless control mark him as a true master of music.

In February 2000, Romero, who was born in Málaga, Spain, was presented with the Grand Cross of Isabel la Catolica, Spain’s highest national honor, and was knighted Sir Angel Romero in recognition of his many astounding musical accomplishments.

In 2007, he was awarded the Recording Academy President’s Merit Award by The Recording Academy, which produces the Grammy Awards, for his musical contributions and professional career achievements.
