Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties (BHHS) officially opened its doors to its El Paseo office on Dec. 4 in Palm Desert.

The opening took place during the City of Palm Desert’s First Weekends and El Paseo After Dark, allowing folks involved with various other activities, receptions and events to join in the celebratory opening. The ribbon cutting and grand celebration was followed by live entertainment with engaging stilt walkers and music by guitarist Daymor Moses.

Attendees included Realtors®, city officials, charity liaisons, media and area residents. Guests enjoyed tasty hors d'oeuvres by Cello’s Pantry and were able to meet owner Hank Hampton and mingle with agents of the brokerage. In addition, BHHS also took the opportunity to support two local charities with a Giving Tree at the event for guests to make donations, while also presenting checks to Desert Cancer Foundation and Family YMCA of the Desert.

As an industry veteran, Hampton is at the helm of the BHHS desert franchises. In 2014 he transitioned the Prudential California Realty brokerage to the brand, which he had led since 1986. Hampton bought the El Paseo building to bring the BHHS brand to service home buyers and sellers mid-valley, and in February he will open an office in La Quinta. Forbes ranked Berkshire Hathaway as the eighth-leading public company in the world, and it is among the world’s most admired companies according to Fortune Magazine.

The event was sponsored by Bank of America/Home Loans – Palm Desert.
