The sounds of BMW Twin Power Turbo engines revved up to warp speed was music to the ears of patrons attending the BMW Fly+Drive Experience, Oct. 8-9, at the BMW Performance Center West in Thermal.
The adrenaline-filled weekend, which coincided with the first weekend of Desert Trip, also featured a Jerome Brunet rock photography exhibition and live music from The Hearings.
Visitors of the new facility also enjoyed a BYO pasta station from Lulu Palm Springs, beer from Babe’s Brewhouse and a Margarita Bar plus chips and salsa from Rio Azul Mexican Bar & Grill.
The new facility near Coachella boasts 40 acres worth of track, or about three miles worth of pavement for attendees to test BMW vehicles in a variety of rides, such as head-to-head competitions in BMW S6M’s, the world’s fastest SUV.
And the popular hot laps raised eyebrows and adrenaline levels in the M3 production cars while professional drivers raced lucky passengers around the track.
