CODA Gallery in Palm Desert will present, “Where Matter and Spirit Meet” from 3-6 p.m. Jan. 23  featuring artists Mark Bowles and Giuseppe Palumbo.

Bowles describes his work as, “ever changing, ever challenging, and always a passionate delight.” He is fascinated with the exploration of color, composition, and the quality and attitude of a line. Each piece draws in the viewer, allowing them to become involved in their own personal journey and discovery of the work.

“The ultimate reward for me is to communicate something new to the viewer, even if for just a moment in time,” says Bowles.

The work of Palumbo is figurative, and his objective is to capture the essence of a being. Each sculpture is alive in texture, spirit, and warmthPalumbo communicates in a language that words don't convey.

“If my work moves the viewer, stirs their soul, is a reflection of our times, or pleases the aesthetic , then I have achieved my goal.”
