Learned R. Gonzales, M.D., a board certified pulmonologist and critical care specialist, has opened Desert Medical Fitness Academy and Wellness Center in Rancho Mirage.
Members of the community had the opportunity to check out the state-of-the-art equipment and facility at a grand opening reception and ribbon cutting ceremony in October.
Desert Medical Fitness Academy offers medically-supervised, results-driven exercise and nutrition programs for people who want to lose weight as well as those striving to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
“As a critical care physician, I see the effects obesity has on the body – hypertension, diabetes, heart disease and stroke.” said Dr. Gonzales. “Desert Medical Fitness Academy is geared toward those who are overweight or morbidly obese (BMI of 30 or greater), but everyone is welcome. We offer programs for every body type.”
Several programs are available ranging from month-to-month, three months, six months and an annual commitment. Desert Medical Fitness Academy also offers discounts for corporate fitness programs.
