My wife and I first visited Boozehounds on our fourth anniversary and ordered what felt like the whole menu — a charcuterie and cheese board, garlic noodles with adobo chicken, and the double burger with cheese (doggy style — with a fried egg — of course).

It was easy to fall in love with their Asian and Mexican fusion creations, and we often found ourselves visiting for happy hour. Eventually, we became regulars and are now greeted by waitstaff that aren’t even working our section just to see how we’re doing. Talk about service.

Enjoy happy hour Friday through Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m.

Covered in gochujang Vegenaise, eel sauce, and Cotija cheese, the Japanese street corn was the star of the happy hour menu, and now it lives on the full menu, too. I could eat The Lunchable (a smaller version of the cheese and meat board on the dinner menu) every day if given the privilege. Boozehounds is known for welcoming doggos in the atrium and on the patio, but since I’m a cat person, I visit only with my human companion. Naturally, I gravitate toward the Kitty Mingling cocktail, prepared with vodka, pineapple and coconut shrubs, mango purée, and egg white.

Year-round programming includes a weekly drag show, annual Yappy Hour benefiting Animal Samaritans, and various holiday events. If I ever adopt a dog, I’d be sure to spoil it with something from the doggy menu, too.
