Dr. Timothy Jochen, board certified dermatologist, and Lee Erwin, executive director of Contour Dermatology, were both honored with a star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars in front of the Palm Canyon Theatre in Palm Springs. For years, they have contributed generously to the community and this star celebrates their incredible contributions — both philanthropic and as business visionaries.

Among just a few of the more than 40 local non-profit organizations they have supported include: Advancing the Interests of Animals, AIDS Assistance Program, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, Big Brothers & Big Sisters of the Desert, Boys & Girls Clubs of Coachella Valley, Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert, City of Hope, Coachella Valley Rescue Mission, Desert AIDS Project, Desert Cancer Foundation, Gilda’s Club Desert Cities, Jewish Family Services, Melanoma Awareness Project, Palm Springs Animal Shelter, Palm Springs Art Museum, Palm Valley School, Shelter from the Storm and The Living Desert.

Long-time friend Dr. Kimberley Yang was instrumental in organizing the day’s festivities and delivered a heartfelt speech about the honorees, as did Susan Rice, head of School for Palm Valley School. The more than 100 attendees at the Erwin-Jochen star dedication enjoyed several dance performances by students of Dance with Miss Lindsay, songs by the select choir of the Palm Valley School under the direction of Craig Gahnz-Kuhar, and the Palm Springs Gorillas Softball team. Erwin is a member of team, which surprised him by coming in full uniform and singing, “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” along with the choir.
