Eisenhower Medical Center’s Five Star Gala on Dec. 7 at Westin Mission Hills was truly a “Gala With A Cause.” Hosted by the Eisenhower Medical Center Auxiliary in partnership with the Eisenhower Medical Center Foundation, the evening’s proceeds were dedicated to the acquisition of state-of-the-art hand held ultrasound devices and other diagnostic equipment for the inaugural class of residents and faculty from EMC’s new School of Graduate Medical Education. Gala attendees were given an opportunity to preview the ultrasound devices and to meet residents from Eisenhower’s new teaching hospital.

Welcoming addresses were given by EMC Auxiliary President Sandra Schulz, EMC President and CEO G. Aubrey Serfling, Dr. Joseph Scherger, Vice President Primary Care, and Dr. Marie E. Pinizzotto, Chair of Academic Affairs.

Now in its 44th year, the EMC Auxiliary combined non-stop fun with its serious dedication to the future and support of EMC’s new status as a teaching hospital. Wayne Foster’s Music and Entertainment kept the dance floor crowded throughout the night, a tribute to the financial support of Benefactors, James Houston and Harold Matzner, Host Committee members Richard and Aliede Bennett, Betty Ford Center, Helene Galen, Harry and Joy Goldstein, Charles B. Gouert, Jr., Larry and Barbara Hatfield, Arthur and Deborah Jacobson, John and Anne Marion, JoAnn McGrath, Carol Swanson Price, Grace and Stacey Renker, Harry and Diane Renker, Robert and Karen Rishwain, and Al and Sally Shoemaker. The memorable evening was also made possible by Platinum Underwriters Helene Galen, Mary Lester and Donna MacMillan, Gold Underwriters Dr. Marie E. Pinizzotto and Carol A. Ammon, as well as generous Silver Sponsors and Table Angels.
