Annenberg Theater Council Announces Tony Award Winner Renee Elise Goldsberry as Season Opener

Palm Springs Art Museum’s Annenberg Theater Council has announced that Renee Elise Goldsberry will headline the 17th Annual Opening Night Benefit Concert on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 6:00 p.m.

Goldsberry, a Tony Award winner for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for Hamilton, replaces the previously announced Raul Esparza who cancelled his appearance due to scheduling conflicts.

Those who would like to attend Goldsberry’s performance and already hold a ticket to Opening Night, do not need to notify the theater as their previous seating assignment will be honored.

Goldsberry originated the role of Angelica Schuyler in the Broadway musical Hamilton. Her other Broadway credits include the original Broadway cast of The Color Purple, as well as appearances in Rent and The Lion King. Her television credits include The Good Wife and One Life to Live, for which she received two Daytime Emmy Award nominations. She is currently starring in the Netflix series Altered Carbon.
