Radio legend Art Laboe, celebrating his 75th year in radio, brings some of the most requested artists from his syndicated “The Art Laboe Connection” radio program to perform their hit songs live and in person at The Show for the 8thannual Art Laboe Summer Love Jam!

Featuring: MC Magic, Frankie J, Baby Bash, Tierra, Lighter Shade of Brown

** MC Magic

MC Magic is a Mexican American rapper, songwriter and record producer, known for rapping and singing, both in English and Spanish. In 1990, he established Nastyboy Records. His first hit single “Lost In Love” was released in 1995. Later that year, Magic established the group Nastyboy Klick, which became NB Ridaz at the beginning of the new millennium. NB Ridaz disbanded in 2006.

** Baby Bash

Ronald Ray Bryant, (born October 18, 1975) better known by his stage name Baby Bash is a Mexican-American rapper and singer. From 1995–98, he performed under the stage name Baby Beesh, as part of Dope House Records, after which he changed the last part of the name to “Bash.” His first album “Savage Dreams”, was followed by On Tha Cool; and Tha Smokin’ Nephew, which included the singles “Suga Suga” and “Shorty DooWop”. In 2005, Super Saucy was released, its lead single being “Baby, I’m Back”, a collaboration with singer Akon. Cyclone followed in 2007, with its title single featuring T-Pain and its follow-up, “What Is It” featuring Sean Kingston, landing on the Billboard charts as well.

** Frankie J

Francisco Javier Bautista, Jr.(born December 7, 1977), better known by his stage name Frankie J, is a Mexican American singer, songwriter, rapper and former member of the musical group Kumbia Kings. Born in Mexico, he grew up in San Diego and became a freestyle artist under the stage name Frankie Boy in the late 1990s. He then went on to joined Kumbia Kings before re-embarking on a solo career. Frankie J’s solo debut album, What’s a Man to Do, was released in 2003, followed by more English and Spanish language albums. He received a Grammy Award nomination for his album Faith, Hope y Amor in 2013 for Best Latin Pop Album.

** Tierra

Tierra is a Latin band from Los Angeles, CA established in the ’70s by former El Chicano members Steve Salas and his brother Rudy Salas. Tierra has the distinction of being the first Latino band to have four songs on the national chart with two of them in the Top 100 at the same time

** Lighter Shade of Brown

Lighter Shade of Brown (or LSOB) is a Mexican American hip hop duo from Riverside, CA formed in 1989 by One Dope Mexican (Robert “ODM” Gutierrez) and Don’t Try To Xerox (Bobby “DTX” Ramirez). LSOB is best known for their 1990 national hit single “On A Sunday Afternoon”.
