Drag Queen Story Hour with Bella da Ball at The Palm Springs Public Library
The Palm Springs Public Library is happy to announce that Drag Queen Story Hour featuring local diva Bella da Ball is featured at 6:00 p.m. in the Youth Room at the Library and will continue throughout the season on May 7th. The evening will begin with a craft, then Bella will read a few stories and then we’ll all dance, dance, dance! The craft for this first event will be making maracas in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month that we’ll be able to use during the dance party at the end of the evening. Kids of all ages are invited to attend; it will be a fun evening for the whole family!
Founded by Michelle Tea and RADAR Productions out of San Francisco, Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH) is just what it sounds like—drag queens reading stories to children in libraries, schools, and bookstores. DQSH captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models. Hosted at libraries across the country, from New York to Los Angeles, and Palm Springs!
