Grammy Award Winner Rob Thomas To Rock Morongo Casino Resort Spa in Cabazon
Grammy award winner Rob Thomas,known globally as the lead singer and co-founder of Matchbox Twenty, for his multi-platinum solo work and his chart-topping collaborations, will rock the Morongo Grand Ballroom on Thursday, March 28.
“Rob Thomas is one of the most distinctive artists of our era as a gifted vocalist, spellbinding performer, and acclaimed songwriter,” said Simon Farmer, Morongo’s executive director of marketing. “Thomas has racked up more 80 million in record sales worldwide, and his commitment to philanthropy is as steadfast as his commitment to music.”
The concert will benefit the Sidewalk Angels Foundation, which provides critical funding and support to more than 20 no-kill animal shelters and animal rescues across the country.
Thomas’ hits include solo classics like “Lonely No More,” “This Is How A Heart Breaks,” and “Streetcorner Symphony,” while his Matchbox Twenty favorites include “Push,” “3AM,” and “If You’re Gone.” “Smooth,” his triple RIAA platinum certified worldwide hit collaboration with Santana, earned Thomas three Grammy Awards for his role as co-writer and vocalist.
Thomas received a rare Diamond Award from the RIAA for Matchbox Twenty’s 12-times platinum debut, Yourself or Someone Like You. Thomas was also the first-ever recipient of the prestigious Songwriters Hall of Fame Hal David Starlight Award created to recognize a composer in the early years of his or her career who has already made a lasting impact.
