Kali, Artographer, 1932–2019

During the 1960s, Long Island housewife Joan Archibald left her old life by fleeing to Southern California, where she reinvented herself as a photographer and took the name “Kali” soon after moving to Palm Springs. See her prints and Polaroids in Kali, Artographer, 1932–2019, a new exhibition on view through April at the Palm Springs Art Museum.
