Friends of the Desert Mountains hosts La Quinta Cove Night Sky Star Observations where volunteer astronomers will set up telescopes for a “star party.” A clear night sky offers a display of fascinating objects to see like stars, constellations, bright planets, a full moon, and sometimes special events like meteor showers. While observing the sky, attendees might see the international space station moving over the Coachella Valley. This event may be cancelled due to heavy cloud cover, winds, or rain.
