Legendary Crooner, Composer Neil Sedaka Headed to Morongo
Renowned performer, composer has helped pen over 500 songs for Frank Sinatra, Tom Jones, and others over a career spanning six decades.
Legendary singer, songwriter, and pianist Neil Sedaka will perform at the Grand Ballroom of the Morongo Casino Resort & Spa on Friday, May 24.
Classically trained at Juilliard, Sedaka’s incredible 60-year career began as a teen pop sensation in the 50’s. Sedaka unleashed a string of chart-topping hits, including “Breaking Up Is Hard To Do,” “Bad Blood,” and “Laughter In The Rain” through the 60’s and 70’s. Other Top Ten hits include “Calendar Girl,” “Next Door To An Angel,” and “Happy Birthday, Sweet Sixteen”

Sedaka’s first appearance on the second season of American Idol in 2003 sparked a renewed interest in his classic songs. Finalist Clay Aiken carried on the mantle by recording several of Sedaka’s hits for a new generation of listeners.
A prolific composer and an inductee to the Songwriters Hall of Fame, Sedaka has written or co-written more than 500 songs for dozens of artists such as Frank Sinatra, Tom Jones, Cher, ABBA, The Monkees and the 5th Dimension. Sedaka, who celebrates his 80th birthday in March, returned to his classical roots, composing his first symphony, “Joie De Vivre,” and his first piano concerto, “Manhattan Intermezzo,” which was released on 2013’s “The Real Neil.”
