Modernism Art Opening at Janssen Artspace in Palm Springs
In conjunction with Palm Springs Modernism, Janssen Artspace proudly presents an exhibit that is bound to move you backwards into the 1950’s & 1960’s. It will focus on original paintings, photography, limited edition prints and sculpture that reflect the talents of the most innovative architects and designers from this era including Donald Wexler and Richard Neutra. Featured artists include Andy Burgess, showcasing his limited edition prints of his oil paintings that include the Wexler Steel House.
Fred Arndt’s Mondrian inspired tower sculptures will be included as well as Jon Gamel’s Kauffman House paintings. Crystal Michaelson, Steven Janssen and Ron Scharfe are amongst the other artists on view. And Lastly we are proud to include Donald Wexler’s prints of his sketches of the Steel House and Family Residence provided by son Glen Wexler, who will be exhibiting his vintage black and white photograph of the Wexler designed Palm Springs Airport shot in 1978 by Glen himself. On view February 3rd – February 27th with an Opening Reception on Saturday, February 12th from 5pm-8pm.
