Palm Desert Aquatic Center Open for Lap Swimming
Palm Desert Aquatic Center (PDAC) has reopened for lap swimming only. Riverside County and State public health guidelines are being closely followed for the health and safety of employees and patrons.
The facility is open with limited hours, Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. Advanced lane reservations are required and can be made online at www.pdpool.com. Payment is required at booking time and lanes can be booked up to two days in advance. Swim blocks begin on the hour and last 45 minutes.
The Aquatic Center has sanitization measures in place and conducts regular disinfection of the facility. Masks are required for employees (except lifeguards who must be able to act immediately for rescues) and patrons outside the water. Social distancing markers have been placed on the ground outside the front desk to maintain safety upon entering. Social distance markers are also on the pool deck and in front of restroom areas. Only pool users will be allowed inside the facility.
Check-in takes place five minutes prior to each reservation outside the facility. Hand sanitizer is available and should be used prior to interacting with front desk employees. Sanitizer will also be available on the pool deck. Patrons who wish to purchase something after they have been admitted must re-enter the check-in line. PDAC will not accept cash or checks for payment. Upon conclusion of swimmers’ lap swim time, patrons will be required to exit the Aquatic Center wearing masks.
Locker rooms remain closed, which means that patrons must arrive showered and in their swimsuits. Patrons must also bring any equipment rentals are unavailable. Swimmers’ personal belongings must be placed adjacent to their lap lane. The unisex bathrooms are open, but not for changing or showering.
