Palm Desert Certified Farmer’s Market Returns with New Hours at Entrada Location in Palm Springs
The Palm Desert Certified Farmers Market returns to its historic home at the Entrada Center with the support of the City of Palm Desert.
The Palm Desert Market opens for the 2021/ 2022 season October 6 with new hours from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm. The market is returning to its original home location at the Entrada Center, at the corner of Highway 111 and El Paseo, between the Chamber of Commerce and the new home of the Artists’ Council. The outdoor Palm Desert market operates from October through April.
“We’re thrilled to continue our long-standing commitment to work with the City of Palm Springs to serve the Palm Desert community in the best way possible. Returning to the Entrada location feels like a return to our roots. Celebrate our homecoming with and check out the new Pop-Up Restaurants featured each week.” said Tim Rains/ Public Relations for the Palm Springs Cultural Center.
The Palm Desert market is opening a half hour later and closing an hour later to introduce to our shoppers a group of brand-new culinary entrepreneurs who started their businesses during the “pandemic pivot.” The new mini restaurants are all restaurant industry veterans who decided to take the plunge in the past few years and dive into their personal dreams of feeding the community. Starting Wed, STRAIGHT AND MARROW STREET FOOD- brought to you by Chef Linh Young- is a Vietnamese blend of traditional and contemporary flavors.
Chef Linh Young said “ We have a passion for food and blending flavors. The name Straight and Marrow is influenced by my Vietnamese roots. Straight comes from the Vietnamese rice noodle called pho and marrow comes from the bone broth that is simmered for many hours in Vietnamese spices.”

The Certified Farmers’ Markets are the Coachella Valley’s *Original* State and County Certified Farmers’ Markets. “Certified” means all the produce from participating farms at the markets has been grown at California farms which have been registered and inspected by their county Agriculture Departments. In addition, almost all the CFMCV farms are located within a 100 mile radius of the Markets (thus reducing the carbon footprint), and many products sold were grown using organic principles. The CFMCV are also GMO-free and sustainably-focused Markets.
The Certified Farmers Markets are sponsored by the Palm Springs Cultural Center, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, which was established to encourage the development of the cultural arts in the Coachella Valley with a specific focus in the areas of film, fine art, live performance, dance, music, and community festivals. The Center is dedicated to advancing education, to nurturing community-wide participation in the cultural arts, and to sponsoring scholarship awards for deserving individuals.
