Palm Desert Rotary Pancake Breakfast on El Paseo in Palm Desert
Palm Desert Rotary Pancake Breakfast
Sunday October 27th Palm Desert 8:30am
As the saying goes, “Pancakes don’t make the world go ’round. Pancakes are what makes the ride worthwhile.”
So, bring your friends and family to Palm Desert Rotary’s annual al fresco pancake breakfast starting at 8:30 on Sunday, October 27, and then sit back, relax and enjoy the ride.
Enjoy pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausages, juice and coffee all for only $5.00. The event will be held on San Luis Rey near the Bank of America so afterward you can meander over to El Paseo to see the Palm Desert Golf Cart Parade entries line up or watch the parade, which starts at noon.
Proceeds from the event will support Palm Desert Rotary’s Literacy Program to strengthen literacy among area elementary school children.
To date, Albertsons, the Cahuilla Band of Indians and Stater Brothers have signed on as contributing major sponsors.
As a result of last year’s breakfast, Rotary helped about 3,000 students by distributing dictionaries to 3rd graders and thesauruses to 5th grade students in nine schools. The club also provided 500 books to five school libraries. In addition, Rotary provided teacher grants at five schools that enabled teachers to purchase materials for special projects — instead of spending their own money.
Furthermore, Palm Desert Rotary “adopted” Lincoln Elementary School and delivered two books to every classroom as well as providing every student with their very own book.
Other club fund-raising priorities include scholarships for college-bound high school seniors and leadership training camps for middle and high school students.
