Virtual Event: Advance Wine Tasting Presented By UC Riverside
Advanced wine tasting begins Feb. 17 featuring 6 live sessions weekly on February 17, 24, March 3, 10, 17, & 24, 2021.
This is a fun and educational advanced class in wine and wine tasting. We will review the four-step tasting technique that focuses on the taster’s ability to separate and identify key characteristics in wine, and improve your flavor and taste memory.
Discussions will include the traits that effect the “body” of wine, climate changes to vineyards; the fires in California, Oregon, and Washington and their effect on the grapes and wines produced; sulfites and why they are used, and the negative assumptions about sulfites; and, wine faults negatively affecting the taste of wines.
We will concentrate on identifying the flavors and tastes of various white, red, rose, sparkling, and ports with virtual tastings, and comparing tasting notes on Rose, Riesling, Zinfandel, and Vintage Port. The final class offers a great, interactive wine tasting and evaluation experience.
