World Screening Movie Premiere- The Jewels Of The Salton Sea

Join The Palm Springs Cultural Center for the World Premiere of the Feature Documentary, “THE JEWELS OF THE SALTON SEA” on August 22 in the Historic Camelot Theatre at the Palm Springs Cultural Center. Directed by award-winning composer Steven Vitali and starring Michael Madsen, Grace Vitali and Steven Vitali. The documentary follows the journey of Hollywood Actress and Researcher Grace Vitali as she explores the life and the living, from Palm Springs to El Centro. However, during her quest to show the Salton Sea’s beauty, she uncovers that California’s largest lake is shrinking. With now the diversion of water and the threat of climate change, the Salton Sea may falter. The film also takes you to parts of China and other bordering countries before her arrival in America.

It is here where she meets up with the many inspiring and remarkable people who are doing what it takes to fight to restore and save the Sea.

There will be a red carpet reception beginning at 6:00 p.m. followed by “Honorary Jewels Of The Salton Sea” Awards Ceremony at 7:00 p.m. recognizing exceptional individuals, services, organizations, corporations, and politicians who have provided outstanding support for the preservation of the Salton Sea. Honorees include Mayor of Palm Springs Robert Moon, former Mayor of El Centro Alex Cardenas, Mayor of La Quinta Linda Evans, Leonardo DiCaprio, Barack Obama and many others. The world premiere of THE JEWELS OF THE SALTON SEA follows.

The event is a fundraiser for the Palm Springs Cultural Center.
