Ahmad Murtaza, a resident of Irvine, Calif., was born in Bangladesh, and has lived in Pakistan, India, Nepal, Dubai, and Canada. His worldly background heavily influenced his womenswear collection. Pulling from different cultures, Murtaza juxtaposed Eastern fabrics with Western silhouettes. He named it the “Maharajah Collection,” and utilized a regal, jewel-toned color palette. He plans to start his own line after spending some time working in the fashion industry with seasoned designers.
