FIDM/ Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising

Octavius Terry, originally from Atlanta, Ga., had a diverse career prior to attending FIDM. A graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology, he was a 2006 Georgia Tech Hall of Fame Inductee for Track and Field, as well as a nine-time Track and Field All American and three-time NCAA National Champion. In addition to his impressive athletic career, Terry is a former musician, singer/songwriter, and vice president of wealth management for banks in Atlanta and Los Angeles. His debut men’s and womenswear collection is titled “British Invasion.” As a member of the 1995 and 1997 USA World Championship Team in Track and Field (in Greece and Sweden), Terry was inspired by the 2012 London Olympics when creating his collection. The tailored sportswear garments have a rock and roll edge with bold plaids and leather trims. With a slightly androgynous feeling, his collection features tuxedo pants for women and skirts for men.
